Description
Kennet House, also known as Snettisham House, is an 18th-century building located on the north side of London Road. It is constructed of chequer brick and features a pitched old tile roof with red brick stacks. The building has two storeys and brick oversailing courses at the eaves. There are five window ranges: the first and fifth are sashes with Gothick glazing bars, the fourth consists of casements with Gothick glazing bars, while the second and third are 19th-century casements. The third window has an oblong bay on the ground floor, topped with a tile pent roof that extends to the left, supported by wooden posts, covering a 19th-century front door with fielded panelling and the remaining two windows. Additionally, No 44 has an early 19th-century three-storey extension at the rear. The property is complemented by late 18th-century railings, which include some lattice work and urn finials.
