Description
The Manor is a building that appears to date from the 18th century but includes a date stone from 1597 at the rear, which may have come from a previous house on a nearby site. The structure has two storeys and an attic, constructed of rubble with a stone tile roof that was raised over the former wall plate in the 19th century. It features two gable-end brick chimneys, two gabled dormers, and two-light casements. There are three three-light casements located under the former wall-plate, along with two mid-19th century tripartite windows on the ground floor and a projecting gabled closed porch from the same period. At the rear, there is a mid-19th century 'L' plan wing with a gable for the chimney, and the rear elevation facing the road is irregular. Adjacent to the north is a chalk-built barn with a slate roof, which has pigeon openings in the south gable; this barn possibly predates the house but is not considered of special interest. The interior of the house is noted to have heavy ceiling beams of late 16th century type with carved stops.
