Description
Mill House and attached mill, dating from the mid 19th century, features a house constructed of banded brick and flint with brick dressings, along with a later 19th century brick extension on the right. The mill is built in English-bond brickwork and has a tiled roof. The house has a slate roof with brick stacks that have cogged caps at the ends of the original range. It is two storeys high and originally had a two-window range. The house features three-light casements with glazing bars beneath segmental brick heads. The mill has two-light casements with horizontal glazing bars under segmental heads on the ground floor, and there is a segmental brick mill race arch to the left of the mill range.
Inside, the mill retains much of its original machinery, including a hurst with enclosed equipment, a stone floor with a wooden upright shaft, a crownwheel, remains of a wire machine, grain bins, a water control mechanism, and other items. The undershot waterwheel has largely rotted away.
