Description

The Old Rectory is a house with origins in the 17th century, although it underwent significant alterations and extensions in the 18th century. It is constructed of coursed rubble walls, with a rendered front, and has a gable-ended thatched roof punctuated by end brick stacks. The house features plain quoins and a first-floor string course. The main facade is arranged with six bays. The upper floor has two-light stone windows with architraves. The ground floor windows are varied, some featuring glazing bars and others leaded lights. The rear wing also contains some leaded-light windows. Internal features documented by the Royal Commission on Historical Monuments include chamfered and stop-chamfered spine beams with run-out stops.
