Description
The gate piers, gates, and railings located 10 meters west of the Church of St Bartholomew were likely constructed in 1847 and have undergone some later repairs. They feature ashlar gate piers with cast iron gates and railings, designed in a free gothic style. The piers are octagonal and sit on square bases, which are adorned with carved quatrefoils. The piers themselves have trefoiled panels and pointed apexes topped with floriate finials. The cast iron gates and rails include five-part leaf finials on the uprights. It is noted that approximately 4 meters of railings to the north of the piers have been replaced with a 20th-century substitute.
