Description
Cranford Cottage and South View are two attached cottages, dating back to the 18th century, with alterations made in the 19th and 20th centuries. They are built of rubble stone with thatched roofs, featuring stone gable copings and two brick stacks at each gable. Cranford Cottage has 3 windows and South View has 4. Cranford Cottage has 2 and 3-light wooden casement windows with wooden lintels and cills. A canted bay window, added in the 20th century, is present on the ground and first floors of the left-hand side of Cranford Cottage. South View has 2 and 3-light stone mullion windows dating from the 19th century, with iron casements and lead lights. The front door of Cranford Cottage is located left of centre, and is plank and studded, a 20th-century addition, and sheltered by a thatched porch canopy supported by two wooden posts. The front door of South View is located right of centre, consisting of two panels with glass lights, set within square stone jambs, and covered by a gabled porch canopy with a slate roof. The cottages are accompanied by attached iron railings.
