Description
Wayside is a central cottage in a terrace of three, dating from the late 17th century with 19th-century alterations. The building is constructed from painted and rendered stone rubble and features an asbestos slate roof with gable ends and double gabled dormers at the front. It has a two-room and cross passage plan, with the larger room located on the right-hand side and a stair likely at the rear of the passage. The cottage is two storeys high with an asymmetrical two-window front. On the ground floor, there are two 19th-century two-light casements with small glazing bars, timber lintels, and 20th-century canopies, along with a 20th-century part-glazed door to the left of centre. The front also includes two 19th-century gabled half-dormers with triangular-headed two-light casements that have glazing bars. The interior has not been inspected.
