Description

The Kings Arms Public House is a public house located on Hollywood Road in Brislington, Bristol. It is believed to have been built around 1730, with alterations made in the 18th and 20th centuries. The exterior features a rendered finish with painted limestone dressings, brick stacks on the lateral and gable ends, and a hipped pantile roof on the left-hand side. The building has a three-room parallel plan and stands two storeys high with a four-window range.

The façade includes a deeply-set doorway to the left of the right-hand window, and a 19th-century half-glazed doorway to the right of the corner. The ground-floor windows, which were updated in the 20th century, have stained glass above the transom. There are two-light windows in the centre and to the right, while the left side features wide public house windows. The left-hand return has two Tuscan columns positioned at the corner and in the centre. The first-floor windows are 6/6-pane sashes set in flush frames on both the right and left sides. At the rear, there is a small gable on the right with a catslide roof. The interior has been largely remodelled in the 20th century.
