Description

A terrace of three houses dating from approximately 1760, located on Jamaica Street in Stokes Croft, Bristol. The houses are constructed of brick with limestone dressings, featuring brick party wall stacks and a slate mansard roof. They follow a double-depth plan and are built in a Late Georgian style.

The buildings are three storeys high, with a basement and attic, and originally had a five-window front, though No. 6 has a single-window range. The facades feature rusticated pilasters extending to a stepped cornice and parapet. Each house has a doorway with fluted Doric columns, an entablature, a batswing fanlight, and a six-panel door with circular panels at the top and bottom. The windows are 6/6-pane sashes, with stepped voussoirs in the lintels—five on each house except for No. 6, which has seven. The attic windows are mansard casements.

The interiors were modernised around 1950. Attached to the front of the terrace are wrought-iron railings, gates with finials, and a pier located at the right-hand corner, defining the paved area.
