Description
The Brewhouse at Kings Weston House is a brewhouse built around 1715 by Sir John Vanbrugh. The left-hand wing was rebuilt in 1991. It is constructed of limestone ashlar and has a single-depth plan. The building is two storeys high and features a nine-window range. The symmetrical front has a projecting center with semicircular-arched ground-floor windows that are linked by an impost band. The flanking wings have matching doorways on their inner sides, while the central doorway is adorned with two large voussoirs and a tall key leading up to a deep sill of the lunette above. The first-floor windows have cambered heads, and there is moulded parapet coping on the wings, along with a machicolated arcade across the center. The interior has been entirely remodelled.
