Description

The overthrow, gates, and piers at the south east entrance to the churchyard of the Church of St. Andrew were built in 1897. They are made of cast and wrought iron, with limestone piers. The square piers feature clamped buttresses, and there is a pair of cast iron gates adorned with decorative spear heads and quatrefoils in the mid-rails. The overthrow includes an inset lantern supported by cruciform wrought iron supports. On the pier to the right, there is a commemorative plate with the inscription: "This lamp was erected by public subscription in commemoration of the jubilee of Queen Victoria 1897."
