Description
This is an L-shaped timber-framed building, likely dating from as late as 1661. The original construction includes herringbone brick infilling. The ground floor was rebuilt in brick, with some areas patched with tiles. The east-west wing features a half-hipped gable with an attic window. The roof is covered in Horsham slabs, with a pentice on the south side, which now has three modern dormers projecting from it. A small projection in the angle of the ‘L’ houses the staircase. The main door has the date 1661 and the initials E.K. inscribed on it with nails. The house was restored by W.H. Godfrey around 1930.
