Description
Fen Place Mill and Mill House is an interesting group of buildings located on Turner’s Hill Road. The mill house, dating from the late 16th century, features timber frames with square-ish panels that are filled with brick, plastered, and white-washed. It has undergone significant restoration, and all the windows are modern. The mill house is two stories tall and has a tiled roof. The mill itself is three stories high, with white-painted weatherboarding and a tiled roof, and includes a two-story brick wing at a right angle. The original mill has 18th-century four-pane sash windows. This is the first mill situated below the source of the Medway.
