Description

The Bolney Stage is a timber-framed building with painted brick infilling, dating back to approximately 1500. The centre portion and the north-east wing are original, with a north-west wing added in the later 16th century. Smaller wings were subsequently added when the building was converted into two dwellings. The building consists of a central section and two projecting western wings, with smaller wings attached to the interior. It is two storeys high and has four windows. Three gables feature renewed bargeboards but retain original pendants, with the southern gable oversailing on brackets. The roof is covered in Horsham slabs. The windows are casement windows with small, square panes, with two windows on the north wall featuring diamond-shaped panes. The east wall is tile-hung.
