Description

Nos 40 and 42 High Street is a single building from the early 19th century. It has three storeys and features three windows. The exterior is stuccoed, with Ionic pilasters on either side of each window bay. There is an eaves cornice and a slate roof. The sash windows, each with 36 panes, mostly retain their glazing bars. A continuous iron balcony runs along the first floor. In the centre of the ground floor, there is a carriage archway with a segmental head. On either side of the archway, there are modern shop fronts.
