Description

This is a range of cottages dating to around 1830, constructed in a Gothic style. The facades are finished with Roman cement, and the roofs are slate, with wooden bargeboards. The two-storey building has ten windows and features a string course and plinth. The central cottage, number 167, has two sash windows with twelve panes each, retaining their original glazing bars. It also has a small panel above the first-floor window and a simple door surround. Four gables, each adorned with scalloped bargeboards, project from either side of the range. Each gable contains a single casement window of three lights with ogee heads. Shops, dating to the 19th century, are incorporated into numbers 159 and 165. Several original doors with ogee panelling remain.
