Description
Cox's Farmhouse, formerly known as Hillside Farmhouse, is a 16th-century timber-framed building originally in the shape of an "L". It has plaster infilling between the timbers. The farmhouse has two storeys and three windows. The south wing has been rebuilt using red brick. A prominent oriel window sits on the first floor, extending over two tiers, each featuring five lights with wooden mullions and a transom. Flanking the oriel are three smaller original windows at a similar height and size. A gable with overhanging bressumer and carved bargeboards with pendants sits above the oriel. A small three-light window is set into the gable. The roof is covered in Horsham slabs. Casement windows are present. A pyramidal hood constructed of Horsham slabs, supported by brick pillars, shelters the doorway.
