Description
Capon's Farmhouse is a restored but very good example of a medieval house, featuring plaster and some red brick infilling, along with curved braces on the first floor. The north-east section may date back to around 1300. The west wing, which has a jettied first floor, is from the 15th century. The south-east wing was likely added in the 16th century, possibly relocated from another site, but it has been refaced with red brick in the early 19th century and features a dentilled cornice and gables at each end. The house also includes sash windows with intact vertical divisions, while the remainder of the building has casement windows. The roof is made of Horsham slabs, and there is a pointed doorway with a studded door.
