Description
This building began as the village school and schoolmaster’s house, constructed in 1839. Designed by architect John Elliott, it is built in the Tudor Gothic style. The exterior is faced with flints set in galletting, with long and short quoins and window surrounds rendered in Roman cement. The roof is slate covered. The windows are casement windows with latticed panes. The principal feature is a projecting central portion of two storeys, with one window, and a gable above containing a small, trefoil-headed attic window. Flanking this central portion are one-storey wings, each with two windows and small, blind gables faced with Roman cement.
