Description

The Almshouses, built in 1839 and designed by architect John Elliott, are a single-storey structure in the Tudor Gothic style. The building features eight windows and is faced with flints set in galletting. It has an eaves cornice and a slate roof. The windows are casement style, and the end window bays project with gables that contain small trefoil-headed attic windows. Long and short quoins, along with window surrounds, are made of Roman cement, and there are four large chimneys also faced with Roman cement.
