Description

Knightscroft is a house designed in 1879 by Norman Shaw for the composer Sir Hubert Parry, who resided there until his death in 1918 and composed the anthem "Jerusalem" within the property. The house is two storeys high and has five windows. The ground floor is constructed of red brick, while the upper floor is tile-hung. The roof is tiled, and the windows are casement type. There are five-sided bays on both floors. A brick chimney breast is located to the south of the bays. A plaque on the garden wall at the entrance commemorates Sir Hubert Parry's connection to the house, which is a factor in its II* group value.
