Description

Summerlea School, originally called Rustington House, was built in the late 19th century and designed by architect J L Pearson. The building is two storeys tall and features six windows. It is constructed of yellow brick with stone dressings in a Gothic style, topped with a tiled roof. The windows are adorned with stone mullions and transoms. The entrance front includes a porch with a Gothic brick arch and a projecting gable to the left. To the right, there are stepped gables, against which is a two-storeyed canted bay window with a castellated parapet. The north front has a stepped gable with a canted bay window to its left and a projecting bay to the right. The central doorway is topped by a five-light window.
