Description
The Mill House is a mill and mill house dating from the 18th century, with alterations from the 19th century. It is constructed of rubble stone with brick dressings and features a stone tiled roof that is half hipped at the eastern end. The main dwelling is one storey with an attic and consists of two bays, accompanied by a lower one-storey, one-bay range to the east and the millhouse to the west. The main dwelling has 20th-century sash windows, while the eastern range contains three-light casements, a glazed door, and a gabled stone tiled dormer with leaded casements. The millhouse features an entrance on the left and a loft door on the right. A weatherboarded lean-to shed on the western wall houses the waterwheel. The millhouse retains complete machinery, including the original 18th-century applewood wallower, a 19th-century cast iron pit wheel, two pairs of stones, and a flour bolter. A mill on this site is mentioned in the Domesday Survey.
