Description

This is a terrace of six early 19th-century red brick houses, numbered 45 to 55 on Woodstock Road. The houses are three storeys high and have a slightly projecting eaves line, covered by Welsh slate roofs and featuring red brick stacks. Each house has a doorway with a semi-circular stone arch, and a sash window beneath a semi-circular brick arch on the ground floor. A stone band connects the ground floor windows. The first floor windows are sash windows, each paired, with early 19th-century iron balconies. The second floor sash windows have painted skew-back architraves and contain glazing bars. The doors are six-panel doors, each with a fanlight above. The terrace is set back from the road, behind gardens, and presents a unique and unaltered appearance within Oxford. Numbers 45 to 55 form a group.
