Description
This is a headstone located approximately 5 meters southeast of the chancel of the Church of St Thomas A Becket. It is probably from the late 17th century and is made of upright sandstone, standing about 400 millimeters high. The top of the headstone is shaped like a bifurcated scroll and features carvings of scrolls on either side of a skull and crossbones. Below this, there is a fielded panel that contains an inscription in Roman serif upper and lower case lettering. However, the inscription is so worn that it is only legible in perfect lighting conditions. The Christian name "William" can be discerned, but the date of his death is not readable.
