Description

This bridge, located about 30 metres north-west of Bayham L'Eglise, dates from around 1870 and is likely the work of architect David Brandon. It is constructed of dressed sandstone and features a simple hump-backed design with a single arch that spans a stream. The bridge has parapet walls topped with coping stones, which are doubled with a central hollow along the line of the walls. The structure is raised and ramped to align with the arch of the stream below. This bridge is part of the landscaped park of Bayham Abbey and served as the original access route from the House to the Church.
