Description
The Church of the Holy Trinity, built in 1842 by Whichcord and Walker, is a Grade II listed building designed in the neo-Decorated style. This simple two-cell church features coursed rubble stone and a tiled roof. The nave consists of five bays with tall lancet windows, while the apse also has five bays with lancet windows, all separated by buttresses.
The west front is marked by a gabled belfry and a triple window, where the center window is taller than the outer pair, each with drip moulds above. Below the windows, a pair of buttresses flanks a pointed arched doorway, which is topped by a corbelled string-course. The doorway itself features moulded columns and a drip-stone above, with ribbed and studded board doors that have heavy hinges. A porch is located to the south of the church.
Inside, the roof is supported by scissor-crossed rafters resting on corbels that hold scutcheons. The apse wall has four aedicules, and there is a west gallery with a stone front on marble columns.
