Description
Comp Farmhouse is a farmhouse dated 1648. It features a mix of coursed and random rubble on a tall plinth with brick capping, along with red and blue brick quoins and dressings, some from the 17th century and some from the 19th century. The roof is half-hipped and covered with plain tiles, topped by a tall brick ridge stack located to the right of the center. The building has a baffle entry plan and stands two storeys high with garrets, displaying a three-window front with a combination of odd glazing bar sashes and casements. To the right of the center is a six-panelled door, sheltered by a gabled rustic weather-porch. Above the door is a date-stone inscribed with "1648 C C M C I C M C C19." Additionally, there is a one-storey wing made of red and blue brick with a half-hipped plain tiled roof that projects to the front on the left side.
