Description
33 to 36 Fort Crescent, now part of Fort Lodge Hotel, were built between 1825 and 1830. The buildings are four storeys tall with a basement and are finished in stucco. They feature a balustraded parapet on Nos 33 and 34, a stringcourse above the first floor, and a cornice above the second floor. Nos 33 and 34 are adorned with Ionic pilasters extending from the first to the second floors and again above, flanking the third floor with an additional cornice beneath the parapet. Nos 33 and 36 each have four windows, while Nos 34 and 35 have three windows each. Nos 33 and 34 have a curved bay with three windows on all floors, No 35 has this feature only on the ground floor, and No 36 has it from the basement to the second floor. Most of the glazing bars are intact. There is an iron balcony on the first floor of all buildings except No 36. No 33 includes a porch supported by Ionic columns. Nos 1 to 8 and Nos 12 to 36 form a group.
