Description

The monument to Margaret Fowll is a chest tomb located about 1.5 metres south of the tower of the Church of St. Mary. It dates from the mid-to-late 18th century and is made of stone. The tomb features a stepped stone base, which was originally surrounded by a railing. It has a moulded plinth and lid, along with bulbous ungadrooned side pilasters. The inscription panels on the sides are fielded with concave corners. The south side is inscribed to Margaret Fowll, who died in 1776, while the north side commemorates her son John, who died in 1743.
