Description
Nos 55 and 55A on High Street is an early to mid 19th century corner building that stands four storeys tall and is finished in stucco. It features a parapet and long and short quoins. The building has two sash windows with verticals only, set in Italianate surrounds. The second-floor windows have cambered heads, while the first-floor windows are topped with cornices. A similar window is located at the rounded corner of the building. There is a modern shopfront present. The Jury Street elevation also includes two sash windows and a two-storey extension that matches the main style, featuring a round-headed doorcase for No 55A. Nos 55 to 59, along with 55A, are part of a group.
