Description
Hawkinge Hall is a farmhouse dating from the late 18th century or early 19th century. It is constructed of red brick in Flemish bond and features a plain tile roof. The building is double depth, standing two storeys tall with a semi-basement. It has a plain stone-coped parapet and hipped roofs on each range. There are gable-end stacks at both the front and rear. The windows are irregularly arranged, with five recessed four-pane sashes that have splayed rubbed brick voussoirs, and similar windows are found on the ground floor. The central entrance features a door with six sunk moulded panels and a plain rectangular fanlight above. The doorcase is adorned with fluted pilasters and panels above the capitals, topped with a moulded triangular pediment. Although the interior has not been inspected, it is reported to contain an inglenook fireplace, mantelpieces, and panelling.
