Description
The Beehive is a building located on the north-west side of High Street, dating from 1715 and featuring the initials C T A. It consists of three cottages, a shop, and a house all under one roof. The Beehive is two storeys high, constructed of painted brick, with a casement window on the first floor and sash or modern windows on the ground floor. It has a plinth. The adjacent cottages, numbered 6 and 8, are early 19th century and also two storeys high, made of painted brick, with a modillion eaves cornice and sash windows that have vertical glazing bars. There is a contemporary hop front with two small openings that have a shelf outside, a wooden grille inside, and a stable-type door in two sections, topped with a flat hood. The entire block has a tiled roof and consists of six bays in total. The buildings from Nos 6 to 22 (even) and Nos 26 to 32 (even) form a group.
