Description

This is a headstone commemorating William Pettit, located about 11½ metres south of the chancel of the Church of St. Mary the Virgin. It dates from the early to mid-18th century and is made of stone. The headstone features a deeply undulating top with undercut ears, and it is carved with three skulls and crossed bones. The inscription notes that William Pettit died in 1739.
