Description
No. 1 Coronation Square is a timber-framed building that dates back to 1429 and originally served as the Old Court Hall of Lydd. The structure has been refaced and largely rebuilt in the 18th century and later. It stands two storeys tall, with the ground floor previously used as a shop before being converted to residential use in 2013. The ground floor is faced with cement, while the upper section is weatherboarded. The roof is tiled and divided into two sections. The building features four windows; the north-east half has casement windows, while the south-west half has sash windows with intact glazing bars. Inside, there is a plaster coat of arms on the upper floor, and the original roof structure remains, including a tie-beam and crown post.
