Description
The Old Lighthouse is a disused lighthouse that has been converted into a museum. It was built between 1901 and 1904 to replace an earlier lighthouse constructed by William Coke of Holkham in 1792. The structure tapers and consists of six storeys, made of glazed brick, and features an iron handrail at the top along with a glass lookout. It stands 143 feet tall and has a diameter of 38 feet. The base includes a plinth, while the central section of white brick has been painted over. Notable architectural features include cambered casement windows and a cambered doorcase with a fanlight, which is accessed by three steps. Above the doorcase is a stone plaque displaying the Coat of Arms of Trinity House.
