Description
No 86 on New Street is a two-storey building dating from around 1845, constructed of painted brick with a plain tiled roof. The facade features a projecting brick cornice and tryglyphs that extend into a small gable above the front entrance, which is located on the corner. There is a string course and a plinth. The windows are topped with semi-circular brick arches, including some blind windows. The front entrance door is glazed with six squares and has a moulded panel below, along with a semi-circular fanlight above, all of which retain their glazing bars. On the ground floor, there are two semi-circular windows facing New Street, also complete with glazing bars. The side door mirrors the front door. At the rear, there is a 17th-century wing, from which the pitched roof has been removed. This wing features three windows with glazing bars that create a total of 20 squares in each box sash.
