Description
The gateway to St Thomas' Hospital is a late 13th-century gatehouse that was relocated in the 19th century from its original site behind New Street. It is designed similarly to a lych-gate and features a restored gable. The outer arch is a pointed stone arch with a drip stone above, while the inner arch is timbered. The gateway, along with the St Thomas' Hospital Almshouses, forms a significant group.
