Description

Kent Music School, located at 1 Pound Lane, was built in 1827 as a police station. The building is two storeys high and constructed of buff brick with a part stone plinth and long and short quoins, likely made from re-used medieval masonry. It features a crenellated parapet and a moulded cornice. There are two four-centred arches spanning both storeys, each with hoodmoulding. The windows are also four-centred arched and have Y-tracery. The main entrance is a four-centred arched doorway, again with hoodmoulding. Inside, there is a brick vaulted basement and light cells with barred windows.
