Description
This is an early 19th century L-shaped building, comprising Flats 1, 2 and 3 (East Bridge House) and Netherbury. The main block is three storeys high and is stuccoed with a hipped slate roof and a wide eaves bracket cornice. It has four windows facing the street, with hung sash windows containing glazing bars. A porch stands slightly off-centre, featuring pilasters and a round-headed arch, with double doors glazed in the upper half with Gothic-arched panes. An iron balcony runs along the first floor, excluding the south-east bay, and continues around the porch. The two central ground-floor windows have segmental heads. The side elevations are brick. Rear extensions are present. Netherbury, the L-wing to the north-east, is two storeys high. It features a three-light Venetian window in a segmental-headed reveal on the ground floor end one segmental-headed window. The first floor has two windows, one segmental-headed and one built-in to the left. A doorway has Doric pilasters, a triglyph frieze and a rectangular fanlight, with pebbled infill to the door reveals - this doorway is likely an imported feature.
