Description
Ickham Post Office, Village Stores, and attached house is an L-shaped building that includes a timber-framed section dating from around 1520, along with later additions and a post office addition from 1839. The oldest part is located in the north-eastern section. The exterior features two storeys of red brick and a hipped tiled roof. There is a datestone that reads "D S A 1739," likely indicating when the building was refaced. The building has three sash windows with intact glazing bars. Inside, there is an exposed beam. The 19th-century addition, which is at right angles to the main structure, is also two storeys tall, made of red brick with a slate roof, and includes three sash windows, a square bay on the ground floor, and a doorcase with a flat hood supported by brackets.
