Description
The Church of St Michael, located on Church Hill in Harbledown, features traces of Norman and decorated work but is primarily from the 19th century. It is constructed of flint and stone with a tiled roof. The church comprises a chancel, a nave with a south aisle, and a weatherboarded bell turret at the west end of the nave. The south aisle and liner chapel represent the medieval church, which underwent significant restoration and was largely rebuilt between 1880 and 1881, with the nave and chancel designed by J P St Aubyn. Notable architectural features include a crown post roof and pointed chamfered doorways on the south and west. The churchyard contains some 18th-century headstones adorned with cherub or skull motifs, as well as some oval bodystones.
