Description

This is a mid-19th century development of mostly semi-detached cottages located at 1 to 25 St Peter’s Place. The cottages are primarily constructed of buff brick, with some sections stuccoed and others painted. They have slate roofs, with decorative cornices present on numbers 22 to 25. Stringcourses are also visible. Many of the original windows retain their glazing bars, though some have only vertical bars. The doorways feature simple, round-headed surrounds. Number 12 has a rounded corner and an early 19th century shop front. Number 11 boasts a ground-floor canted bay window. Adjacent to number 12 is a coach house built of red brick and covered by a tiled roof. Numbers 1 to 25 form a cohesive group in their appearance.
