Description
Digges Place is a house located on Elmstead Lane in Barham, dating from the early 17th century. The building is three storeys tall with attics and is constructed of red brick. It features three gables with brick kneelers; the two gables on the right are joined, while the left gable is connected by a short section. The attic storey has oval windows, and there are brick cornices separating each storey. The second-floor windows consist of four lights, similar to those on the first floor. The ground floor windows are hung sashes with glazing bars. A modern door is situated in a tiled porch that leads to a set-back link section, below a two-light window. The roofs are tiled. The house is named after the Digg or Diggs family, who had a residence on the site during the Middle Ages.
