Description
The Former Anchor Inn is a 16th-century timber-framed building that has been refaced. The ground floor is finished with painted brick, while the upper floor features plaster with remnants of a bressumer. The building stands two storeys high with attics and has a tiled roof that includes two gabled dormers. The north end has a shaped Dutch brick gable. The structure displays long and short quoins and features four windows in total. There are two 18th-century bays with two-light sash windows on both the ground and first floors, which retain their glazing bars. A doorcase with a flat hood supported by brackets is located between the bays. The roof slopes down to the ground floor at the rear, which also has gables. Additionally, there is a one-storey extension made of painted brick. Inside, the building showcases exposed beams.
