Description

No. 4 Middle Row is a 16th-century timber-framed house with a plastered front that has been painted black and white to resemble timbering. The house has three storeys and features an overhanging first floor supported by a bressumer on the south side. The gable also overhangs, resting on a moulded bressumer and brackets, and is adorned with carved bargeboards and a pendant. On the first floor, there is a three-light bay window with intact glazing bars. The shop front has a large flat hood that extends halfway across the pavement, supported by iron columns, with an iron railing above. All the buildings in Middle Row are part of a group.
