Description
This listing describes a chest tomb and two headstones located about 1 metre south of the Church of St Mary. The chest tomb is dedicated to George Wightwick and family, who died in 1749. It is made of stone and features a plain chest design with pilaster side piers supporting a moulded top slab, along with simple inscription pieces.
One headstone is for Edward Andrews, who died in 1754. It stands about 2½ feet high and has an ornate headpiece decorated with a scrolled winged hourglass and a garlanded skull and bones. The second headstone commemorates Christopher Flury, who died in 1714. This headstone is also about 2½ feet high and features floriate scrolled shoulders with motifs of an hourglass and a crown over a serpent.
