Description
Dowle Street Farmhouse is an L-shaped building that likely dates from the 17th century, with the north wing refaced in stucco. It has two storeys and features a hipped tiled roof with a heavy modillion eaves cornice and a stringcourse. The north wing includes three Dering windows, which have cambered brick head linings above the round-headed lights, with keyblocks at the angles and in the centre of the heads. There is a doorcase with a flat hood supported by scroll brackets. The south wing, dating from the 18th century, is constructed of red brick with grey headers and also has two storeys and a tiled roof with a modillion eaves cornice. It features three casement windows and a similar doorcase.
