Description
The Church of St Peter and St Paul is a Grade II* listed building located on Church Lane in Shadoxhurst. It features a chancel and nave, with a shingled bell turret at the west end, supported by two stone buttresses flanking the west door and a red brick south porch. The chancel dates back to the 13th century and has later windows, while the nave is from the 14th century. The bell turret was added in 1788, and the south porch was constructed in 1870 during a restoration of the church. Inside, the nave has a barrel vaulted roof with a crown post and includes a piscina. There is also a monument to Sir Charles Molloy, who died in 1760. The churchyard features several 18th-century headstones adorned with skull, hourglass, and cherub motifs.
