Description

Tudor Lodge is an early 19th century lodge, now a private residence, built for the Nightingale family. The building is constructed of brick with blue headers, timber scantling and brick, and has an old plain tile roof. It follows a T-plan shape, with a 2 1/2 storey lodge forming the T, linked to a lower, gabled crosswing of timber scantling and brick. The front facade features a T-shaped lodge with a connecting bay attached to the head of the T. The end of the head of the T has a three-light leaded casement window on the first two floors, incorporating a tripmould on both floors. A kneelered gable rises above, featuring a gable wall and finial, and a two-light leaded casement window beneath a dripmould. A stack of four rectangular shafts with joined heads is also present. The linking bay contains two tall leaded two-light casements, and a gabled dormer with a two-light leaded casement above. The crosswing has two-light leaded casement windows on each floor, decorated with carved bargeboards and a finial. A lean-to addition is present on one side, weatherboarded in appearance. A tiled gabled dormer is on the side elevation.
